Just got back into the game. Can I buy honor gear with doing randoms? I am level 82 and like to level by PVP, random battle grounds. Can I buy gear for level 85 so I don't cap and waste the honor??

We used to be able to do this, but then Blizzard figured out they could increase your grind by dis-allowing it.

However you can grind honor once you hit cap starting buying JP points with it by the time you hit 85 you will have 4k of both and then you could turn around and buy honor points with those JP points and have enough honor to buy several pieces of PVP gear or vice versa and get several pieces of PVE gear.

True, I don't know what difference it makes if you get a full set of honor pvp gear when you hit 85 or a a couple more days of grinding after 85, same with PVE JP gear.

The difference might be you have to resub for those few extra days grinding.

All part of the plan.
