Most will come back for the expansion I think and continue to do so in the future, provided they don't get too retarded. Ya, the panda is retarded, but its just a character class and is ultimately pointless anyways, as what matters is the overall world content. People keep focusing on the retarded panda for some reason that I don't get, but whatever.

I LIKED taking 20 minutes to run through an instance in Wrath and then grinding for Tier loot that way.

Completely agree with you on the Panda note. I have no idea why people keep fixating on that. It has zero relevance at all to world content.

As for the second point, that's what 4.3 brought us Super quick heroics.

If they publicly announced the firing of Ghostcrawler, then uploaded a video of them throwing him off of the company campus, I would probably re-sub!

They are so protective if him, they suspend people for criticizing him on their forum at the drop of a dime, it is like they worship the guy, so unfortunately I don't see that ever happening.

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.
The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?

you don't see a lot of people in the zones because of the dungeon finder and bg's the quests are pretty cool the first time around though.

It's doubtful that "one man" has ruined the franchise. Hell, you were giving him accolades here: http://wow.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/ghostcrwaler-introduced-to-blizzcon/.

Google "Kalgan", a.k.a Tom Chilton or Tigole (Jeff Kaplan) and you will find similar postings about them.

I didn't buy Cataclysm, because I felt cheated on the amount of content (only 5 levels) and their attitude of shoving Facebook integration/RealID down our throats back in July 2010. The people I work with that did purchase and play Cataclysm only did so for a couple of months. I get the feeling that a few bean counters up at the top wanted to capture the 80% that quit before level 10. So they threw in everything including the kitchen sink on 1-60 to capture new players and unfortunately, this appears not to have worked given their subscription numbers.

This year, we have a few new promising MMOs: GW2, TSW and ArcheAge. Given the lack of enthusiasm about MoP, no doubt you'll see less and less people littering the streets of Stormwind. This doesn't mean WoW dies overnight, but it will fade into the sunset as one of the most successful MMOs of all time.

I don't know anything about those other people you mentioned. Can you let me know if they continued to push the "my way or the highway" attitude despite losing over 2 million subs? Did they twice tell a player in a public blog "ou're wrong. Next."?

All I know is that, right now, GC is the "face" of Wow, since he is the lead dev and his repeated foot in mouth stunts are indeed harming the game. He's not the sole reason I left. I listed my other reasons in an earlier post. I do know that I was teetering on the edge of resubbing, saw his "you're wrong. next" comment and decided not to because of the sheer arrogance and unprofessionalism of that remark.

Well, just have to look at this hate:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Kalgan

An archive of his really old posts can be searched with his name:

http://blue.cardplace.com/search.html

It's the same old "he nerfed my class, he sucks!" arguments that have been made
ad nauseum from the beginning of WoW to now.

Firing Ghostcrawler will have very little impact on the direction of the game.
He's not controlling the direction of WoW: Activision is:

I think everyone is just frustrated with the direction the game is going and is looking
for the nearest target.

1) You still in Christmas holiday and New Years, not everyone plays during this period.

2) A lot of people are probably trying out Star Wars, they will be back, that game hasn't go legs.

3) Who wants to stand around in Stormwind showing off their Barbies anyway

4) Dead, losing a million or two or three, sad to think they lost more than most games ever peak at.

5) A lot of people are coasting, after MOP means a new class/character to level.

6) Doom and gloom, doom and gloom.

fwiw, I haven't logged in while playing my 30 days of SWTOR, but after those days are up and no "miracle patch" I know what game that I will be playing.
