These are for those of you who were asking about what you can customize for your character.

Just so you are aware, these are the options open at level 13. Sockets don't come into play in the beta right now (later part of Act 2 I think) and there was supposed to be enchants or something else included, though nobody is 100% sure now because the "delay" was done to rework this part of the game.

This is the "Forge" where you can build items. The way this works is that you "salvage" any items you find that are better than "white" quality, and they give you materials. Those Materials can then be spent on Forging Armor and Weapons. The items you get to Forge are based on your character, so you can create items for other classes.

The Forge recipes "level up" with you for a few levels. An "Apprentice" recipe that is good at level 1 will level up to about 7 or 8. Note: I said the RECIPE and NOT the ITEM. So you can keep remaking the same recipe over and over as you level and the item will be better, until the next Tier of recipe's open up.

Lastly, you "train" new recipes by paying gold into the Training Bar.

The below shot is your inventory. As you can see, there is a tonne of equipment slots available (13 in total) and as you know, every slot is used to customize your character. The "details" button shows you your overall stats.

This is a picture of your "Skills" Tab, with the Active Skills opened in the window beside it. In Diablo 3, you are limited in how many active skills you can have at any one time by your level. At level 13, you can have two Mouse Buttons equipped and then 2 numbered slots (4 in total).

This below shot is your Passive Skills Tab. As you level up, you can select a Passive Skill that does varying things. You can have up to 3 in total by level 30. What you do is select your skill and then I think it gets locked in for 60 seconds before you can change it to something else.

Here is the main Achievement screen shot.

Here is the "General" Achievement screen shot with Beta Specific stuff on it. I don't know if the "Betamaxed" achievement will carry into Live but it would be awesome if it did.

So overall, how am I liking the game? I really like it. Its great. I am not sure why they are holding it back at this point, but obviously they found some issues with overall customization "depth" for the later levels or difficulty modes that concerns them, so that is why they must be redoing some of the systems.

Hmmm, if I'm going to buy this game anyway, maybe I should just get the WoW annual pass and get this free. Looks fun.

It is fun and if you like this style of game, it is worth it.

I would get the Annual Pass but I want the collectors edition.

So, maybe this has been covered before, and if so, I apologize, but will you be able to respec your Diablo III characters or will you just be forced to reroll with every patch that changes every talent tree from the ground up?

If ignorance were painful, half the posters here would be on morphine drips.
Everyone playing WoW knows everything about playing two classes: 1) their own and 2) Hunters

Originally they said you could but it would be hard (which is fine).

No idea if that is still the case.

From what I saw while playing it(haven't played it again in a month+) there was no need for a "respec" at all. There weren't any talent trees, and no stat allocation from the players end. The only real thing that would need to be "respec'd" would be your skills, which are interchangable at certain locations.

The runes/gems etc seem to be changable as well, so there would really be no reason to have 2 characters of the same class, ever.

The lack of stat choices and skill trees is one big thing I don't like about the new direction D3 is going. A "dumbing down" like has been happening in WoW forever.

I can't wait to play it in the higher difficulties though. Should be fun for a button masher for a while at least.

Ugh! Thanks Blizzard...

Most people don't want to have two characters of the same class. SWTOR is the last game that "locked" you into your spec choice and I absolutely hate it.

Some times, dumbing down a dumb game mechanic isn't a bad thing.

With a good respec system you can achieve that requirement and still allow unique spec choices.

Well, there's nothing dumb about choices, like wanting to build a character one way stat wise.

Talent tree type stuff I can see not needing, though they could have been pretty cool. Like having different trees for different types characters. Examples would be Magic Find tree, Spell/Health vamp trees, Physical/Magical damage trees, etc. So you'd have tonnes of options.

I would have preferred some sort of skill trees though, rather than having everything then just being able to swap out at will. Not to say that being able to "respec" would have been bad, but it should have been expensive, or at least not effortless.

I like variety, but not effortless variety.
