Just watched a bunch of MOP videos over the week-end (haven't played Wow in 6 mths+) and I'm rather impressed. I love the new environment and visuals of MOP, the slightly bigger/better looking armors, the cool revamp of oldschool dungeons (scholo, strat), the new 90 class abilities and so forth. Looks like WoW is going in the right direction.

I honestly found both to be underwhelming. GW2 looks aight. I just feel the GW2 changes from the holy trinity system (tank/healer/dps) to a 'whatever combat system' are done simply for the sake of change and perhaps not for the best. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a clusterf*** to play in PVE. It also has no real PVP reward, that's the #1 reason I'm not interested in it.

Secret World? The Combat I feel looks somewhat lackluster. It has a nice mature feel to it, but that's it. It's also too much of an odd potpourri of legends/myths all intertwined together for better or worst (prolly for the worst). The icons are ugly too. I just don't feel it'll be superior to MOP.

TOR? Played it & quit. PVP was laggy and rather boring. The PVE was fun but not spectacular. Big disappointment there.

That's it, that's my condensed opinion on these upcoming MMOs/expansion. How do you guys feel personally about this?

I'm going to try MoP a bit likely, but it's honestly just more of the same.

One of the core reasons I don't play WoW anymore is because the PvP system is complete sh*t. That and the community sucks anus.

GW2 is looking to have a really good PvP system, which is the biggest draw for me.

It could be, but why are people suckers for that? If that is what you want, then great. It is only "dull" to people who over played though.


Myself, I will be there again. I do like that they are mixing things up though for the new expansion pack. The scenario idea might be enough to keep me hooked for longer than Cataclysm hooked me.

I think you are pretty much setting yourself up for failure if you are judging your opinion of any MMO based on graphics. 3/4 of your listed reason for why WoW is going in the 'right direction' were visual reasons only. Even your comment on the level 90 abilities was based on how they 'look'.

Graphics do not make an MMO, nor an MMO expansion!

The issue i have with WOW is that they force you to overplay it to get anywhere... I get the system, the carrot and the stick syndrome to keep players engaged and coming back for more (AND paying their 7.99 a month)!


Personally, i play for the enjoyment... I may play for 1-4hours a week... the biggest issue i have is repeating the same thing twice... it was good first time, nothing is good the 2nd (except sex and alchohol)! Also, when I PVP I want it to be 100% equal... not in the sense of class balance (because you will always have the paper, rock, scissor contest) but in terms of leveling the playing field and making everyone battle it out in their undies!


I get that you "worked" hard for you shinies... but I don't want to "Work" when I play the game! Give me a server where you can have any PVP gear by buying it from a vendor and let the ego's battle it out on the treadmill.
