You seem to think that everybody is a rude asshat like you, and they are just "forging a persona" here... well... how to put it more or less nicely...
Reality check... most people are able to communicate in "real life" without insulting each other, without aggression. If you can't, you are the minority. And many of those people just communicate the same way on Internet, unless attacked by pricks like you of course, nobody here is jesus.
Seems to me like it's you who hides behind a screen like a coward to be a nuisance on the Internet. Most people are able to communicate on the Internet just like they do in "real life", in a civilized way. But of course, it only takes a couple of sociopaths to wreak havoc and ruin a community if there's no appropriate moderation behind.
Once again, you try to blame others for your own weaknesses. Pot, kettle, etc... the fun continues!

MMO's and these boards were awesome till all the kids who were born after lets say 1985 got old enough to use them it's pretty much been down hill after that.

I will say that over the last couple years I noticed a lot people with thin skin coming out of the woodwork. Probably the same amount as always, but it seemed like people could take a few more punches back in the day.

A quite good assessment, even though age doesn't automatically means maturity - everything when downhill on the net when every retard could plug a modem and get access to it, and that was indeed between 2000 and 2005. Anonymity + audience = asshat.
Thing is the audience changed for the worse - and what worked in the 2000s, low moderation and adult behavior, doesn't work anymore nowadays (and since a few years already). You can't use the same moderation methods today than those you used ten years ago. If you don't slap the kiddies on the hand hard quickly, they take over your board and make everybody else leave.
