I have been playing on WE since 2001 and have been a member of only 2 guilds. My first monarch was Beth aka Ionia the Younger of the Highlanders. I was concernd back in early 2006 when Beth left, mostly due to health reasons and we merged with the Legends.
I portaled to the mansion and stood around by myself for a while watching several groups of people chatting. Immediately upon seeing me standing around, Cyns asked me to come over and join their group of about 6 or 7 peole that were chatting in private. She introduced me to everyone and we started talking and from that moment on, I felt I had found a new home. ( I think Bruce was there.........but I later forgave her for that
)
I have watched hundreds of people leave this game for various RL reasons and I have been enriched for meeting them. Most of them started playing AC early in their lives and I watched them grow and real life became something they could not ignore any longer.
I'm somewhat unique in the fact that I started playing when my only daughter left for college and my wife and I became "empty nesters". I just turned 58 on friday, so that gives you some perspective on how I view WE.
I take the reigns from Cyns, because she is at one of those places in RL that demand her attention much more than any fantasy world. I told her I would be a good steward until things change or heaven forbid, the game ends.
One thing will never change, I will always be her and J's friend,. I have met them in RL several times and even tho they are a beautiful young couple with a beautiful daughter, they accepted an old blad guy to be a friend.
So Cyns, this is not goodbye.............................it's only ....when are we meeting at Pizzaria Uno downtown Chicago for a few beers, pizza and some good conversation??? I f you don't want to drive all the way home, my wife and I have an extra bedroom you can stay.
Oh yeah, BTW, I am Starman and currently helping out a friend with a job I swore I would never do and could never "fill her shoes", "take her place"..etc.
