Alas, it seems AC and myself are not to be.

I downloaded the trial, created account, but went I click on Wintersebb it just goes to a black screen. I'm guessing my laptop can't tolerate AC and I can't really afford to screw around with making it work when I graduate in 6 weeks and have a helluva lot of work to do.

Sad times.

Maybe in the summer Xen!

Maybe. The funny thing AC in it's day wasn't successful because of Turbine, but because of Microsoft. Turbine never ran it as good as Microsoft did.

I am not so sure about that, history has a strange way of making things seem better than they where. MS had the game at the peak of popularity but never did anything to market it at all, it was also due to MS not addressing certain things that where important to the community and the apathy from Ken Karl, that people started to leave, such as when DAoC hit the shelves.

A lot of players where lost back then and there is a reason why Turbine going solo was a very celebrated move amongst the remaining but rapidly dwindling community.

Eventually though, despite the change of ownership to Turbine it was really a case of the same old crap.
