The ruleset of Mordred is completely dumb.
Ywain has more of an PvP ruleset than Mordred.
You're joking right or are you just that stupid?
#1 People on Ywain/RvR have never had a PENALTY for dying, thus they don't care about donating RP to their enemies. Kinda like a bunch of cattle being herded into a slaughter house.
#2 People on Ywain/RvR aren't exposed to "PVP" on a constant basis, like most of us from Mordred were. Try going from 1-50 pre-ToA on a server with a pop of 2-3k+ where anyone can kill you anywhere after lvl 10. You develop a greater since of "awareness" to your surroundings. Unlike on bluebie handholding RVR servers where you could lvl in the safety of your own realm, thus having no clue as to anything that is going on around you.
#3 People get PL'd to 50 and have completed templates (those who know what a template is most don't even have one) before they are even r1L2. Why should they even bother with a template, don't really need one when you run in a 100+ person zerg.
#4 Darkmatter's horrid videos are an example of RvR players (r11+) not having a clue how to play. Where you see him do nothing but keyboard turn and click his actions. Doesn't have anything QBOUND (like most people on RvR) they don't even know what a qbind is. Again why should they 50% or more just stand afk in the zerg to soak up RP. Completely oblivious to his surroundings breaking all the CC'd and generally just running around with his head chopped off like a moron.
It's simple people who play on RvR servers just generally lack a since of awareness to their surrounding, unlike on Mordred you had to completely be aware 100% of the time. You had a reason for learning how to play, because if you didn't you were going to become very broke very fast.

I noticed that your sig says you played "The Realm", is that referring to "The Realm Online" 2D side scrolling turn based game?. If so rofl, that was my first MMO!!
I was SLord/flitZ/Cadfael/ShadowLord/sLord. 2s Wen 4 Life, making people plug since 96.

yep, that The Realm! Was such a great game... sure, not FFA pvp, but you at least lost random items when you died. My brother started us playing it after getting a free month trial in the box for Lords of the Realm II, another great Sierra game. He played The Realm for like 40 hours straight or something the first weekend, practically from the time he got home from school on Friday to when he had to leave on Monday. Back then we had a limited number of hours of internet per month with our ISP, so once our dad found out how long he spent on it we weren't allowed on it the rest of the month. lol.
The Realm was like our MMO marijuana, the gateway drug to more hardcore stuff like Ultima Online a year later.

I'd be surprised if they still had it today. The game's been sold so many times I've lost track. Last I checked it was still up and running, but forgot the name of the company running it now.
