Right you are. You've won again, which is all that ever mattered to you and those like you. You won't see reason, and I won't argue with a fool. Enjoy your victory while we both wish Mordred was still around.

I expect that not one of you will take responsibility for your part in the downfall of the server. It's because most of you haven't changed. The behaviors of the minority of "elite" ego-tripping tools on Mordred drove countless people to give up and go somewhere they would not be gray ganked, griefed, flamed, killed during raids after spending hours waiting for the small hope they would get that one item they had needed for months, etc.
The people who griefed and grey ganked were largely the 'non-elites' who couldn't compete and the flaming wasn't limited to a certain group of people and definitely not some sort of 'elite' minority.
It was the 'elites' who killed raids so you're partly right about that although I think that's part of a pvp server and to be fair, the AE BG patch reduced the effectiveness of busting raids but it was too late to make an impact.

The fact is that if you are unable to recognize that 95% of the people who quit left because of how they were treated, then you are almost certainly a member of the 5% whose actions and attitudes caused them to leave in the first place. And yes, the server had inherent flaws and was not well tended to by Mythic. But people still play the game, even with all of its flaws. Ultimately, Mordred would have survived those flaws, but it was destined to fail from the day that it was created. A dog-eat-dog environment with no negative consequences for the mistreatment of those who are less powerful than you is bound to self-destruct.
First of all, that's not a fact and there was no magic 5% ruining it for everyone else. What there was, was an old game with a company that stopped supporting it.
You seem to be forgetting that DAoC used to have about 30,000 people online across the different servers and is now down to 1 server with 2-3000 online.
After the merger with Andred, Mordred had no other server to merge with and nobody is interested in playing on a server with <100 online.

I remember 30k plus online, with 2-3k peak on Mordred. The game definitely took a dump overall. I'm not trying to say that there weren't a number of reasons why DAOC or Mordred itself died. But to deny that a minority of players on Mordred seemingly went out of their way to ruin the fun for the rest of the more casual player base is to assert that disrespectful, underhanded treatment does not negatively impact the way people perceive an experience, which is ludicrous. And no, of course it wasn't just the elites who acted like turds. It was, as I said, a Lord of the Flies experiment in which human nature was revealed and those who had no way to exercise power in their day to day lives took out their frustrations online.
I'm not bringing back the server or changing minds, so I'll admit defeat. The elites will never admit their part in the downfall of the server, and I guess it doesn't really matter if they do anyway. Done's done, and I'm done.

I wasn't even thinking about winning. I was just proving a point.

I agree with most of what you're saying actually. I was disagreeing with your statement that 95% left because the remaining 5%, the 'elites' as you call them, were acting like assholes.
A small question though, what was your name in the game and when did you start playing? I have been trying to connect your vn handle to a character but I draw a blank everytime.

Blackspine was my main. I doubt I'd ring a bell for anyone who ran with the 8-man's and powerful guilds. I wasn't ever good enough at PVP to make a name for myself in those areas. Got myself to RR10 through small-man and solo PVP. I still miss this damned game. Sorry if I offended anyone by coming across as a fanatic about the "elite" thing. I knew a lot of elite players, and I liked many of them. I guess I'm just looking for a target to unload my displeasure about Mordred's demise

Since none of these children (the same ones who were members of the attitude set that destroyed the server) will give you an even semi-adult answer, it is quite simply no. I doubt that it will ever happen at this point.
