I'm considering putting one as my Christmas item this year, just looking for feedback on how useful they really are.

No way I'll end up with a Wacom but I was looking at these two:

Or this more basic and much more affordable one:

The reviews on newegg haven't really helped. Kinda torn between getting a cheap intro type to see if I'll actually use it and then if I do I'll find a way to get a good one, and if I don't it's not a lot of wasted money. OR .. get a midrange one and hope it's good for me and not have to consider an upgrade.

I'd be lost without mine.

The Wacom Bamboo is what I use, it's affordable and does everything I need it too, I don't know anything about any other type, I'm a Wacom whore

I do not. I've thought about getting one, though I really have no drawing ability so it might be a waste of $.

For some reason Newegg doesn't carry Wacom in Canada. I'll check other sites.

The Bamboo is kinda small, would you like a larger surface?

I used a wacom while I was going through school. I should have stolen one from one of the labs, lol

Shal we should definitely talk more about this, I've really been thinking about getting one. Trying to do some of this stuff with my mouse is making me insane

As long as you talk here!

Found the Bamboo for $106 CDN, that's doable. (Especially since it's not my money )

I might have to ask for one of these for Christmas...definitely couldn't hurt to have it at my disposal should I need it.

I've never used one. I don't have any drawing skills whatsoever so it never occurred to me to get one.
