Default Icons (80x80 pixels) - Every registered user can use an icon to be displayed under their name. All registered users may also upload an icon to be placed in the public pool. The icon needs to be 80x80 pixels and no larger than 15KB in size. Your icon submission will be reviewed after its added by staff and rejected if it contains material against our rules.

Insiders can now upload MegIcons - Allows you to upload our new biggie-sized person icon known as "MegIcon". The MegIcon must be 120x120 pixels and under 25KB. Your MegIcon will only be accessible to you within your "icon locker".


Image Sigs - Insiders can upload a small Signature Image which will appear at the bottom of your posts within threads. The image sig must be 500x60 pixels and under 50KB. Side note: every user will be able to hide Image Signatures if they choose. The controls for this are located in the "Change Your Display Settings" located on the Options page.


There are a few things to note about the new changes. The larger MegIcons will only be available to the user who upload the icon themselves; they are not stored in a shared pool like the old icons. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available. While the listed changes apply to the VN Boards, they will also affect our other boards within the network.

Note: If you are found uploading/adding material (Icon, MegIcon, Image Sig, Title) against the board rules, it will be removed and your account will be met with extreme moderation. Also, if the icon/MegIcon or Image sig that is overly distracting (for example a bright pink flashing square), or of very low quality, it might be removed. I know this all sounds harsh but it had to be said and you can't say no one warned ya

What has this done to the Icon Rules? Can I have a general use icon with my name? Can we make icons out of anything that is postable?

The rules are still pretty much the same, no porn, no hate etc. Boxy icons are okay now, assy ones aren't. MegaIcons can have names. As long as it doesn't brake the ToS, you should be good.

Evily is still waiting for the answers to a couple of questions so I'd hold off on names on 80x80 icons for now.

I'd also wait until the compression issue is fixed before doing any gif images, especially animated.

Don't quote me on this but I suspect that what would be okay on IGN would now be okay here which means both of those would probably be okay, but we'll not know for sure until Teddy gets back to Evily which may take a while because he's probably being hammered with questions right now.

You might want to make that painfully obvious, because as it stands right now I wouldn't put it past people to just upload random personalized stuff...
