As some of you may know Rose has been having health issues since November. She had previously had gastric bypass surgery and she was having issues with it. On March 5th they went in to do another Gastric Bypass surgery to repair some issues with the scar tissues in her stomach, they ended up taking more of the stomach then they thought they would have to. She had been in ICU last week while they were draining her lungs from fluid that had built up on them. I spoke to her on Saturday and they had her back in a regular room and she was in hopes that she would be home by Monday the 12th. I was just notified by her daughter that things took a turn for the worse, the drainage tube they had in the abdomen came lose and caused her to become septic. They had to open her back up and have to try to clear out the septic tissue. The are in hopes to do one more procedure tomorrow to try to get all the tissue out and close her back up. She's currently on life support also. Her family has asked me to pass this on to her friends here in the DAoC Community to help with thoughts and prayers to pull her through this mess. I will update you as I have further details.

Is it just me, or does it seem like her doctors are a little incompetent? Hopefully they step up their game~

I wish her luck, I had a surgery which had the same incidental results of gastric-bypass which made me lose a lot of weight (I was already regular weight) and I was put on the same regimen as GB patients, lots of complications, ended up under a hundred pounds and I got to speak with a lot of people in online support forums. It's life changing and even though I don't know her, I know how bad it gets. Hope she hangs in there!

Sadly she was already under weight going in as she hasn't been able to eat solids since November because of the issues in the stomach.

Then it's the same that happened to me, and it's no fun at all. I hope she gets better and comes back to game/boards...I couldn't eat solids for nearly 3 months.

After talking to her husband this afternoon they have got to get her through 2 weeks of ICU then to a nursing home is the current goals, so it sounds rough.

i was under the impression that gastric bypass surgery was for people who had weight issues that traditional forms of weight loss could not help.

but you both mention weight not being an issue, what else is the surgery for?

hopefully she is on the road to recovery.

She had had it years ago and the scar tissue in her stomach had what they thought was one lesion on it until they got in there. It's still in the same category though because they are operating on the stomach sadly.

OMG! I got your message on FB, Amy. I will for sure keep her in my thoughts and prayers. If you talk to her family again, please tell them I am praying for her recovery too.
