How do you do the master afrits? Or even the ones that drop the chests that spawn weapons. Been gone for a while and been trying them with a cleric+cabbie. Thinking about leveling up a sorc as well if they would be better.

Master Afrits aren't worth the time imo.

Regular Afrits with a pet class and bot: you just ML9 the pet sick it on the afrit and make sure you heal your caster. If you want to speed it up cast some spells on it when the weapons aren't interrupting you.

so the weapons dont do enough damage to matter unless i take too long on the afrit and they start adding up?

Also since a focus shield seems silly on a single mob since they weapons never attack the pet am I better off using a class that can charm a stronger pet for more pet damage?

Basically all you have to worry about is making sure the bot doesn't get aggro from the Afrit. I used to take em with a cabby/cleric and ML9 pet all the time. I would put up DI, send in the pet, dot the crap out of it then just heal the caster and pet when needed. The weapons will not change targets after they are summoned.

Oh and make sure you use the taunt command on your pet, it will help too. If you have DI, even if the bot gets some aggro your caster should live through it till the weapons despawn.

The only other tip I can give on em is hunt the afrits that are more isolated. Ones around camps of mobs seem to run right into the camp.

For a trial run try porting to Arbor Glen then head towards the upper right corner of the map. Just down from the Bergopes encounter there is usually a normal Afrit in that ravine by itself.

Hope that helps.

I am going to go with the answer I went with in the buffbot thread. You have multiple slots, what's stopping you from making a sampler platter of all the pet classes?

As for breakdown by realm each has advantages and disadvantages, so it comes down to personal appeal. Assume all of these bots go 50 in their buff line because pets do not have a 155 hard buff cap and you want as much con buff on your pets as you can get.

Alb: Matter Cabby + Full enhance cleric: Pretty good combo, cleric brings a lot of good stuff to the table for buffing pets and is regarded as the best pet buffer by the vast majority of players because of th reactive defensive heal proc and their spec AF. While the matter cabby shield coupled with a jade simmy makes for a pretty good farming pet.

Alb: Mind/Body Sorc + Cleric: What I like about this combo is their usefulness doesn't end in the farming aspect. Mind/Body sorcs have always been a good rvr toon as well

Alb Minst + Cleric: Pretty much a weaker version of the sorc but they can melee and run an ablative. If you like different this is not a terrible choice and like the sorc you will do well in RvR, but you can't have ML9 Convoker on a Minst which is kind of a bummer (Menty's have this issue as well)

Hib: Mana Chanter + Druid: Druid is hot and old for me, they get some great realm skills, but they offer little when it comes to a focus pet. Clerics offe so much more and even Shamans get the weak no aggro generating friggs which helps heal pets that will be taking little damage. While a druid offers Haste, even at ML9 though the high end mobs will be taking more damage from your focus shield than from the pets melee damage. That said it will still offer a decent melee damage increase overall and there really is no other good buffbot choice for a pet in hibland. The chanter itself at least can also PBAOE once the pet has generated enough aggro, which is nice.

Hib: Menty + Duid: Probably my least favorite choice. But they do have other uses in PvE with their off spec having a nice Heal over time in it. But like the minst, no ML9 convoker hurts this choice's appeal.

Mid: SM + Shammy: SM's have the most choiuces in how to spec, they can get red focus shield spirit pets, yellow focus charm pets, then can have decent PBAOE, it is a fun choice, but they will likely be a jack of all trades/master of none if you go the charm route. Not that there is anything wrong with that. The shammy will bring the weak friggs which should help out on healing the minor damage the pet takes while shielded.

Mid BD + Shammy: I personally like the BD, but I do not feel it is as good a 'farming epic mobs' class as a focus shield class would be. They do get TWF and NM though and that is always fun to drop while your ML9 Pet smashes a mob

In the end I made all of them because I like pet classes. I think Cabby Druid is my personal favorite, but that is less based on the numbers and more on personal choice.
