Altra.. that was done in both the X-Files Part 2 movie... and (harvesting organs purely for sex) - Crank 2.

X-Files 2 was horrible, but it boiled down to rogue Russian scientists harvesting organs to prolong life etc.

Crank 2 - basically the same thing, but the rich Russian dude was doing it for the rich Asian dude.. so he had a big weiner and could mount all them jap chicks.

Have we honestly become so PC in the world that we are afraid to make movies because they offend people? Look at my wonderful Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby... that was a wonderful Disney movie.. but will it ever get to DVD? Nope.. because people scream racism...

If you wanna cry foul... how the hell was "White Chicks" considered a non racial film? Think anyone could go to 'that' extreme with black face and do the same thing infiltrating the Black Panthers? doubtful. Sure... Robert Downey Jr did it in a sense in Tropic Thunder, but that was a role not even parallel to White Chicks or the multitude of other Anti White innuendo's some blacks get away with. Sadly, we live in a world where races are protected not by their humanity but by the color of their skin - yet I do belive non handicap whites are the only race not protected by race crimes.. how is that 'fair.' That's like that Jenna 6 garbage.. it's ok cuz they were 'provoked' to attack that white kid, yet if 6 whites beat up 1 black... omg they would march.. (not like they didn't to FREE the kids because they for some reason thought it was ok to do this when someone calls u a naughty word lol).. we live in a world hidden behind racial tension that it will only cause people to hate eachother more. Next thing you know, some douche is gonna be a prick to a cop and refuse to follow instructions and get arrested for disorderly conduct, then cry foul and say the cops a racist - when the cops the most unracist person in the world teaching tolerance classes etc, then the president is gonna say something stupid like how badly the cops acted and make a stance on racist when it was the dudes fault for being a racist prick in the first place.. GOSH.. what's this world coming to?

I fail to see how you pick this movie up as racist... it landed in Africa... and certain groups in it that practice a primitive religion did the same (not only to eachother) but to the aliens as well.. it didn't portray them as anything other than what they are... thats like showing a docuementary on voo doo people in New Orleans.. it's not racist if thats how they are... you are looking under this from under the microscope.. stop trying to be an Al Sharpton. Wanna see racism? Go have your white gf walk down MLK Blvd and see how far she gets.. and have a black chick walk down my neighborhood.. I bet she gets to the other end of the street without a scratch while your gf ends up in 2 suitcases with her ovaries spread across the map. Racism is a 2 way street son.

God... u made me remember X Files 2.. what a horrible.... horrible movie...

on the topic of horrible sequels.. I'm afraid to watch the 'made for dvd' DOnnie Darko one that's now at Walmart.

Oh... and Drag Me to Hell is still a good movie no matter what anybody says.

You keep bringing up racism as if I was offended by solely the portrayal of the Nigerians. I have nothing vested in this movie, I just think it's an incredibly idiotic move to make a movie that is supposed to expose the tragedies of apartheid for blacks and it turns around and shows the vulgarity of black people. In fact, I only brought up racism in the first place because of your PM, everything else I have posted here has been about the theme being contradicted by idiocy which wouldn't even be realistic in the first place.

Lexi, can you even find Nigeria on the map? It's like saying, the alien ship landed in Chile and it makes total sense that Mexicans are down there. Oh wait, I forgot, it would make sense to you because they're both brown people. (Also, I'm waiting on the joke about Mexican gardeners.)

Johannesburg is where the movie takes place.

and yes.. nigerians are the highest population on the continent.

http://www.mapsofworld.com/nigeria/information/population.html

also nigerians are very populated in south africa

http://allafrica.com/stories/200805211081.html

http://www4.southafrica.net/nigeria/

http://www.africamasterweb.com/AdSense/NigerianDrugLordsKilledMyWife.html

http://www.nigerianmuse.com/20090121090506zg/articles/re-examining-nigeria-s-relationship-with-other-africans

so yes it makes perfect sense to have nigerians in south africa... ESPECIALLY criminals...

Again... Nigerian.... criminals... or people... are not infrequent... to find.. in south... africa...

and again

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_Six,_Cape_Town

btw.. "Nigerian People" played a big part in the above with prostitution rings etc... that part of the movie was perfectly parallel.

oh and i like mexicans. just not cubans. ricans are 50/50. But you would find 'hispanics' in Chile.. and Mexico... just fyi.

/swoosh

edit - sorry for the typo's and fast response / anal raping. I am busy toking 14 chars around in WoW and 3 in daoc

Lexi, if you're going to post links and claim pwnage, you probably should read the articles first. Nothing in them mentioned anything about Nigerian roles during apartheid.

If Nigerian's played a role in the apartheid, I can accept that it would make some sort of sense to me in the context of the theme (although it really wouldn't make sense, having metaphors for the other players, but keeping the Nigerian role literal). If. Prove it and I can accept it.

I'll check your links in a sec, but I'm pretty sure the entire movie was about apartheid... Those aliens weren't living in the shack-city voluntarily (as far as I understood it).

lol, again lexi, I clicked your link and the first thing that came up:
"Upon gaining independence in 1960, Nigeria made the liberation and restoration of the dignity of Africa the centrepiece of its foreign policy and played a leading role in the fight against the apartheid regime in South Africa.[32] "

edit: so there is no misunderstanding. The Nigerian role in South Africa was the good guys, they were the guys against the apartheid regime, so no, they were not exploiting South Africans.

sorry thought u meant real events... the nigerians played a role in apatheid.. some good some bad.. with district six as well.

the movie was taken 20 years after district six i believe.. not instead of.

so some lingered and the roles basically reversed.

yes.. nigerians played a role in apatheid... both sides..

and no the nigerian military was the good guys... they had a very strong crime syndicate ther that were not fighting for the good but profited from corruption.. just like in the movie...

the same goes for any country tho.. we all have our john walkers... regardless of whom we fight.. the movie did not depict all nigerians as primitives, but rathers the focus on the gang that attempted to control it.. much like what happened in the real movement down there.

Lexi, keep going, you're almost convincing me... I just need real proof. Everything you have linked so far that has mentioned Nigerians is either the Nigerians being anti-apartheid, or the corrupt criminal groups in the '90's.

Like I said, if what you are presenting is true, I can accept it. Just show that it is.

edit: and if you would do me the favor of quoting the (a) relevant parts of the links in the thread, it would save me from digging through a 20 page link just to see the information is far more recent than the apartheid period.

I'm confused now... are u saying that nigerian gangs had no play in apatheid and the movie portrayed that as false... and that they do not act like that or what?

at first u said they were no in that period.. i proved that they were on both sides..

u then said nigerians were not in the area by your map contradiction... i proved that...

so what are you saying now? that their behavioral charectoristics are that of helpers and peacekeepers during this time period?

the links show gang violence pre and post that period.. and the large amount of population in that area prior to the events of d6...

sorry for the typo's... arguing with idiots in and out of the game while doing av basically solo sigh.

so we went from u trying to say they were portayed wrong to u saying there are no nigerians in south africa (like chile / mexicans) etc.. what's next? honestly.. is this your only soap box at this point?

if u want me to go on their behavioral charectoristics in the movie.. a simple search on voo doo prostitutes of nigeria shows a nice many things.

u took this way off topic... your arguement was aout how it wrongly portrayed blacks as animals in making a msg even tho u said "And I'm not arguing that this was being untrue to African gangs, but it's a bit counterproductive to portray them in such a way when trying to deliver such a strong moral." the movie portayed the nigerian gangs as violent and voo doo following cannabals.. which is often practiced in that belief...

u went from that to history and geography.. ..

step 1 steal under pants
step 2 ?
step 3 profit?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1199985/Now-goes-trial-Africas-cannibal-despot-Charles-Taylor-finally-just-deserts.html

"He stands accused of masterminding one of the most macabre, blood-spattered episodes in African history.

Helped by his teenage son 'Chuckie', Taylor allegedly orchestrated the slaughter of up to 250,000 people, many of whom were tortured and raped before being cooked and eaten by Taylor's troops. "

so there... torture... cannabalism... and voo doo... all portrayed correctly... in the movie..

happy now? and i included 2 cool videos for u to watch also.. be sure to eat food while watching the first one tho haha
