According to that link, all of the old and new( ) DAoC players are uniting on RIFT's Briarcliff server upon release. Shall this be the server where we start out Gawaine guild? I'd hope so...

Ok, so things have changed. We are still going to try and play on the same server, but there's talk against Briarcliff because for one it's an overpopulated server right now, and two it'll get worse upon release.

Keep an eye on this thread and i'll try to keep everyone updated on which server we will start on.

Nyd and Uruz started this originally and I give them full credit... I just wanted to give sure direction on what was going on for those who truly wanted to see Gawaine players together again. I truly don't want to be apart of a huge DAOC guild on Rift with people from all servers... it has late game catastrophy written all over it.


I still stand by what I said and without a doubt am going to be playing Rift on Tearfall on the Guardian faction... I hope everyone joins...


I've been jumping into Uruz's vent trying to talk further about all of this but havn't been able to get in touch so in the mean time I will be be sticking to my guns. I truly hope other people from Gawaine want to join in on this and any form of verification from any of you would be great.

Well here's the questions to ponder...


Do we want to take a shot joining into the mass DAoC server such as Seacliff, which seems to be the center for the majority of dark age players from various servers. I haven't yet mentioned to them what server we're looking at, but many of them seem to be wanting to hang together.


I'll be using the remainder of the beta time testing the waters in the various servers mentioned such as tearfall and Seacliff and seeing what the population is like.


I'll be honest, the discussion in the general chat in Belmont Defiant left me wanting to ditch guardians, and the fact that the defiant content will be new to me come launch is also a draw because I've replayed the under 20 content in guardian 8 times now.

As for me - i jsut want the gawaine people together - although old school DAoC was probably the most fun MMO i've ever played - alot of it had to do with our community. So i reallyd on't care where we play - what faction etc - I've played both factions.. could care less about the server name, as thats all it is. Lets just all get together and play. Agreed?

Agreed. I just wanted everyone's thoughts on the subject. I'm not sure what trying to get involved in a highly DAOC saturated server would cost. It seems like the best bet for regaining our old community is going where the general community is going.


The request regarding the daoc server from the masses is not to all roll together on the same faction, but to roll wherever you want on the same server, so we can generate the same rivalries and enjoyment we had in the past.


They seem to want to rekindle the old fun times of duel nights and such that many newbie pvp'ers don't take much interest in because they can't keep themselves from spooging in their pants and rolling a whole zerg over the 5 people who came to play nice-like. <cough Garek>


So my thoughts are, we shoudl find the DAOC zerg and roll with it on whatever server they choose, in whatever faction we choose to move together in, and have a go.


I will be checking Seacliff in the next beta to get a feel for the community and see how they seem. If it's good ole times, I'll report back and let you guys know if it's all good. If thats the case then I'm voting Seacliff, as thats where the daoc'ers seem to be heading.

With the rvr changes and making siege more important opposed to melle'ing doors.. i might go back to DAOC


Truthfully tho... I may try rift.... i mean.. why not it was fun in beta.

can you tell me more about what I missed, or if you made it to the next bg tier or learned anythign else involving the pvp and pvp reward system?
