1. There will be a entry fee to play in the league for next season. This fee will be in the 7-10 dollar range. What we will do with this fee is not been competely decided yet. Trophies are probably not an option. I am thinking that we turn this into a small time money league. Give out 20 dollars to the winners of each division (60 total), 10 dollars to the wildcard (70), 35 to the league champion (105), and 15 to the coach of the year (120) (This will be the team who has the best regular season record IF that team does not win the championship, and if the best team wins the championship, this will go to the team voted coach of the year by the rest of the league, but cannot go to the league champion ever.) I am open to suggestions on some other way we could use this league fee, my idea is not set in stone, but there will definitely be a league fee next year. I am doing this to try and raise the interest and competitiveness of the league. If you have an issue paying the ten dollar fee, let me know, if there is only a couple that cannot make this fee I can probably work something out where I or another member can cover your entry fee.
2. All League trades will be subject to my approval. The trading situation has just gotten out of hand the past few years, so every trade must be approved by me to be finalized. To be considered for the current weeks games (Sunday) the trade must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Friday Evening. Any trade submitted after that time will not be considered for approval until after Monday of the upcoming weekend. Any trade which is rejected can be appealed to the assistant commish of the league, Liquid, to appeal a decision you must notify me no later than the first Friday at 11:59pm after I have rejected the trade. I will then instruct you to send your statement to Liquid as to why you believe the trade is fair and acceptable and should be pushed through. I will send my statement to Liquid as to why I think the trade is unbalanced and should not be accepted. His decision will be the final word on the appeal, and I in no manner have any power to remove him from his post for overriding my trades.
3. That brings us to the next issue of assistant commish. Liquid will be the assistant commish; so he will be responsible for any trade appeals, any trades involving myself, and any other small issues that I cannot deal with myself. At the end of each season the league will vote on rather they want to keep the same assistant commish or appoint a new one.
4. We will stick with the three division setup for the next season, however, I will reorganize the divisions to be more fairly balanced. If you have a request of a team you want to be put with in your division or dont want to be put with in your division let me know before the league starts up for next season.
5. We will be changing the league to a Keeper league starting next season. We will draft as normal and play the season as normal, however, going into the 2013 draft you will be allowed to keep up to two (2) players from the previous season on your roster. These players will count as your first two draft picks in the following seasons draft, so if you decided to keep zero players you will be selecting your first player in the draft before anyone who kept one or two players and so on so forth. After a year of keeper players we will vote on going Dynasty or staying as a keeper league. In addition the draft order in 2013 will be inverse order of the previous years standings. Two IR spots will be added to your roster (in theory, there have been issues with this in Yahoo). These spots are roster spots that players who have been placed on IR in real life can be put on so you can use their roster spot to replace them but don't have to drop them (since they may have value in future seasons, Peyton Manning or Jamaal Charles is a perfect example of this from the past season).
6. Playoffs will remain as is. Four teams, two weeks, single elimination. If we ever go to a two division setup, we may consider adding a fifth playoff spot for scheduling reasons.
These are the changes that will be made going into next year, but other changes can be made as well if we decide something needs to be changed going into the season. I am excited about the direction the league is taking and look forward to 2012 being the best and most competitive year to date. Please leave your opinion on what we should do with the 120 dollar league money, any idea will be considered, if you like my idea of distribution then leave that as your opinion.
