I'm looking for something new. I think the last CD I bought was Coldplay, and considering all the hype about this band, I thought it kinda sucked.

I have a few bands/artists that I'll continue to buy (DMB, Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams) but I need something new to get into. I like anything that is acoustic to rock guitar type stuff. The Pixies where my favorite band in High School. Any suggestions would be great (that isn't connected to hip hop ). I feel out of the loop these days LOL

Me too. I feel out of the loop so bad that I'm resorting to things from across the World and things from the past. I would also like some suggestions, (preferrably no hip hop) but with not just guitar being the main focus. I like things with LOTS of instruments playing--not just a guitarist and I don't really like Bob Dylan or other singers with duldrum voices unless they are really melodic and go with the beat. I cannot get into the Indie and stuff. It's just too downer for me. I also don't like country. Almost every other genre I like, but I have enough hip hop to last me for awhile.

So add me to the list of people looking for something new.

If you like Ryan Adams, check out his main influence Paul Westerberg

Pick up his cd "Besterberg: The Best Of Paul Westerberg"

I like that Tally Hall cd a lot! I did like some other songs too. Like from Beirut, The Mountain Goats, Caribou is pretty amazing, I have to send the Final Fantasy cd to my daughter. She will like it. Band of Horses I liked too.

And Ryan Adams was a yes.

Thanks for the ideas!

Sorry, except for John Mayer, that guy...kid? drives me nuts.

Here are the albums I'll buy in order probably. Apostle of Hustle sounded really good. I'll have to recomend that to my friends. Oh, and if you liked Ryan Adams, make sure to pick up Demolition and Gold. Both really great albums. The Wiskey Town album that he was in was really great as well. 1999? Something like that. 16 Days was the song that hit the radio from it.

***Apostle of Hustle - Folkloric Feel

**Four Tet - Rounds

**The Mountain Goats - All Hail West Texas, and Get Lonely

**Caribou - Up In Flames

**John Butler Trio - Sunrise over Sea

*Final Fantasy - He Poos Clouds

*Band of Horses - Everything All the Time

*Tally Hall - Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum

*Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass

I did buy a few albums last year that were pretty good. The National - Alligator and Bloc Party weren't all too bad.

Thanks again.
