I always prefer decorating with live plants because they seem to eat dust as opposed to get dusty

However, there are exceptions. I saw on a home show that you should put fake plants up high, and real plants on or closer to the ground (still out of reach of pets/kids if necessary though) simply because it's much easier to water/care for plants that are easier to reach...the high up fake ones only need to be dusted or rinsed every once in a while! Plus if they're higher up, or not so close to view, it's harder to tell they're fake if you've got good quality ones.

We use the spray fake flower cleaner to clean ours and keep the dust off. It works really well although it really stinks.

Yes it does. I take em outside.

I have real plants in my home too, just have to be careful of what because of having a cat and a dog.

My cat will eat anything that looks green and leafy in my house.

Hell, she eats french fries and tries to suck soda out of a straw.
