What do you guys have on the walls in your living rooms/family rooms? Art? Family photos? I'm looking for some fresh ideas! I would love to have an arrangement of photos but I'm not good at that stuff, lol

Do you guys have any tips?

I'd ask Ladyluc. I think she has some of the best artistic sense I've seen. She seems to just know what looks right.

There is a regionally renowned artist here, and we have several of his works on a couple walls (Jon Crane, if you're interested). On the wall along the stairway, my wife has placed a bunch of family photos, including our parents, baby pics of us, and of course, our children and granddaughter. (Which reminds me...we don't have a picture of our newest daughter-in-law there yet!)

You know, we built/moved into a new house just about a year ago now.

We had tons of stuff from our old place of 20 years. Much of it I didn't want to get rid of, but it just doesn't fit...color nor space (went to a smaller house...ouch!)...

So I decided to just give it some time. Really look for pieces (where my old stuff really did NOT fit) that suited the space/our style, and just left walls/space blank for a few months. The environment grew on me (and is still doing so), the colors I painted, did repaint, and still plan to paint became more clear, and I invested when I saw something that I decided I could NOT do without!

In other words, I took my time. And I still have places I don't have filled/painted/done.

It'll happen...when I find it.

^^ That's pretty much how it is for us too. We've been in this house just shy of a year and have taken our time getting things set up. I don't regret it in the least...we keep changing our minds! But we're starting to figure out how we really want things to be, now that we know the little idiosyncrasies of the house, and how are habits are, and how the two work or don't work together. If we'd gone with our original plans before we'd really had a chance to live in this house a while we would've had to tear everything out and redo it, costing more time and money!

I collect art done by Matt Rinard.

I bought the AP back in 2002, I believe. Since I was a craps supervisor for 10 years, this piece really made me giggle.

Each year, I add an AP to my collection.

Thank you for the compliment Silver.

My house is very eclectic. In the family room I have a wall with items from various trips I have taken... dagger from Egypt, crossed swords from Spain, decorated wheel from Costa Rica, and an Ankh from Egypt. On another wall of the same room I have 11x14 prints of nature that took combined in an arrangement with a couple of plates from other trips. And on the same wall I have another arrangement of a watercolor a friend gave me, a 16x20 photo of a grasshopper I took and couple of other items.

In the living room I have one wall with 16x20 photos a a sunset from our honeymoon and the hall is lined with family photos.

The house is a work in progress though. We've only been living there a couple of years and some areas I still haven't gotten them how I want them.

We own a florist business so I get lots of neat ideas. I have a huge grapevine wreath in my living room over the entertainment center with just silk greenery on it. It is also situated in the eve of the cathedral celing. the other end of the room has home interiors pictures and greenery. One wall is covered by our fireplace, a mantal and a huge picture of my son. Several floral valances over doorways in my house. Scenic pictures from vacations that have been blown up with assorted silk greenery in our family room. Brass and copper hangings in the computer room with silk ivy vines entwined.

Pk, I like wreaths and have enjoyed using them in the past as well. Unfortunately my got old and dusty and I ended up throwing them out without replacing them.

But your decorating sounds nice.
