The seed catalogs have started to arriving and I'm starting to drool over various flower choices. I want to plant day lilies and oriental lilies this year around a light pole we have. I also need to move a hibiscus plant that gets too big for it's current location. It currently drapes over the front steps and makes it hard for my blind aunt to navigate without obstacles to the door.


Other spring plans include adding additions to the shade bed that I started last year. I need to see what survived and where there are large bare spots.


What are your hopes and plans for the coming spring?

I'm starting my seeds next month.


I have a raised bed I'm putting tomatoes in, and another where peppers of all sorts is going, melons will climb in the old driveway, a celtic knot garden is going in the garden dedicated to passed loved ones.


Well, those are the plans anyway *laughs* the actual what comes of it...

I saw it done on the home and garden channel. He took the plan he had then drew it out on the ground using string dug along the string and planted in the trenches.


that's the over simplified version not taking into account the types of plants you want, size of garden/etc. But I'm hoping it won't be TOO difficult. I have a tree to work around

Good luck on the project. At the very least I'm sure it will be a learning experience. Every time I try a new garden idea, it's a learning experience for me. Usually I learn that I suck at growing that particular plant or weeding that much space but I learn.
