I am trying to improve on a recipe I made for an apple cinnamon bread.( part of the update is adding vanilla pudding in place of vanilla extract for extra moistness ) but I would like to know what is considered the sweetest apples or at least a few choices. I of course know granny smith and golden delicious are out of the running

Why wouldn't you consider golden delicious a sweet apple? They're sooo sweet and tastey

I've always liked Pink Lady apples. They're very sweet more consistent than the others.

Honeycrisp and Washington State Fuji (don't like the NZ ones).

i'm going to suggest honeycrisp too. i save all my apple baking for when those are in season.

I know our grocery store LOVES sharing produce knowledge with people, including tasting and what not. see if they'll let you sample.

[edit] an afterthought, i think i would go the tasting route anyway, because from my experience, different batches always taste different and you'll find a batch that taste uncharacteristic for the type they are.
