That's a bad thing when you're trying to control your blood sugar levels with diet and exercise alone as I am. This is definitely not a temporary diet for me, it is a lifestyle change and my diet came straight from a dietitian who specializes in diabetic training at a large local hospital/clinic. "
fair enough, but then your not "most people"
I've just seen too many people (coworkers and such) that think they found the answer to life by cutting out carbs (which usually lasts about a month or so) and their weight bounces like a dodge ball.

i did the Zero Carb / Zero Sugar for 2 weeks coupled with 1 hour of exercise every morning and 2 hours every night
i lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks .... did what i needed to do to re-enlist in the Army, went back to eating whatever i wanted and kept up the PT program in the morning (about an hour of exercise) and put those 15 pounds back on in 2 weeks

I do pretty much everything lite  Whole wheat bread, LOTS of whole grains, brown rice, light mayo, sour cream, 1% milk. List goes on. I also RARELY use ground beef and if I do it's 98%, I use ground turkey and prefer it to the beef taste. Fiber plays a big role in my family's diet as well. My kids even love spinach  It's all in the seasoning!

Nope. Only time I have ever consumed anything lite/diet/etc was when there wasn't anything else available.

Almost always use lite Butter, Skim Milk, and I've discovered plenty of low fat items that arent too bad. I eat alot of Ground lean Turkey, and like other's only buy the ground sirloin or 95%-98%.
I use the REAL stuff when I'm baking, but I've been known to substitute applesauce here and there.
