they are paid over minimum wage - no tip is required; should only tip if they provide exceptional service

I tip them, but less than normal wait staff. Usually only a couple bucks.

If there is some extreme weather and i have cash on me yeah. but normally, i don't have cash on me and there's no where on the slip for a "tip" so most of the time no.  I do feel bad about it though because for some odd reason, i like tippingl.

I used to car hop for Sonic when I was a teenager, I appreciated tips it made my work experience more pleasurable. I always give a buck or two to the car hops. Back then we were not paid minimum wage you made up the difference in tips.

but at Sonic - they don't offer an alternative to where you can pick up the food yourself; you either use the carhops or you eat elsewhere - i feel that if they choose this model then tipping is not required
