this weeks was interesting
The guy gave up one of his eggs to another competitor. That probably cost him the win. She should have asked if they could split the winnings since it was so close. That would have been the noble thing to do. My op of course.

The Barefoot Contessa is unable to make a receipe with less that 357 steps. I find it annoying...
Heh - so true. I love her show and her recipes, but (until this season) she never made a simple recipe.
One of the reasons I also like Rachel. Well, I hate Rachel, but love her recipes - most are very easy and very yummy.
I make Rachel's stuff during the work week when I have limited time, and make Ina's (I think that's her name?) on the weekend.

I'm with ya on that. I don't think she'd of won without him giving up the egg. She should have offered him a little something. The judges DID say it was close. I felt horrible for the dude that didn't plate in time. That must've sucked!

I bet the guy who didn't have the time to plate would have won the whole thing if he had just been a little more organized. Wow that has to be nerve racking, and pretty scary tho. I also felt bad for him. Was cool that the judges at least tasted his food.

I thought it was interesting that one of the first episodes of Chopped had a guy on it who was one of the guests in the first part of this season's Top Chef (where they had the NYC applicants who didn't get picked) who was so cocky and was talking trash about the food... then he gets 3rd place out of 4 people on a Food Network show.

I've heard bacon dipped in chocolate is good. It's something I want to try but haven't yet. I have made bacon dredged in a brown sugar and cayenne mix and that was pretty yum. (sweet yet spicy)
