Tuesday night on Food Network *Chopped* |
I have been watching this for the last few weeks. It's pretty good. There are 4 competitors, and they have to make 3 items...apetizer, entree, and dessert. They are on time constraints for each category, and their ingredients are revealed just before they begin cooking their dish. The ingredients are hidden in a basket. Some of the combinations are really wild. After each category, one of the competitors is "chopped".

It's not even close to Iron Chef. I've watched a bit of different episodes here and there, but nothing really draws me in. It's filler between commercials as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with Lynea. We have mentioned on some other thread that Ted Allen's stilted delivery kills the show. He is so much more personable that the "fake voice reading bad writing from a teleprompter it". And WHO puts together those terrible ingredients?? LOL!

Pretty much anything Ted Allen puts me off. He's got no personality on camera, ever.

I love the horrible ingrediants! It is what makes the show good imo. Makes for a good challenge for the chefs competing. Though I still don't get why vegan chefs compete. They always suck on the meat parts.

I agree with Saph!! Makes the show interesting. I felt sorry for the guy last week that didn't get his chicken cooked enough. The one coming on tomorrow looks like it's gonna have some weird stuff in the baskets.

Yeah the chicken dude from last week had that in the bag if it'd of cooked. I was bummed because I wanted to see what sort of dessert he'd make.

I think I don't like the constant chef interview segments. They're boring. The commentary and interviews on Iron Chef make it more enjoyable for me, that and the pace of Iron Chef seems more frantic.
