Gas or electric stove? Gas I'd say yes, electric I'm not a fan.
I bought a good skillet and it warped the first time I used it.
This wouldn't be a problem with a gas stove but mine is a flat electric,
it doesn't sit down flat any more. On gas stove, it wouldn't be a problem.

I went the cheap(er) route and bought all Ecko clad pots and pans. I got an All-Clad 12" skillet for Christmas and while I like the really long handle and the lid that came with it, I can't tell the difference between it and the Ecko stuff.

What I figured: good stuff, but not a noticeable difference from the next one down. Any suggestions on a quality set of stainless steel cookware?
Edit: A brand is fine, but I welcome a suggestion on any specific sets.

Electric, but I'm moving frequently and need something I can use on both.

All clad works on gas or electric.
Every nonstick pan I've bought had to be replaced in two years, it looses the nonstick properties over time. I don't by expensive nonstick cookware any more.
Another good, though expensive, stainless steel set is the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). It has a copper inner sandwiched between stainless steel outer.
Sam's Discount has a good set of stainless steel cookware, very good price.

I got my entire set of Ecko clad cookware from the local Tanger outlet mall store (Gourmet Chef, I think). I bought two saucepans with lids, one large, one medium, 1 each 6", 9" and 12" plain and non-stick skillets (total 6 skillets) and a stock pot with lid for about $250.00.
They've been very durable. I've had them over a year now and they still look brand new though I use them every day. I cook with gas so I don't know how they work on an electric stove.
