I find it endlessly funny that people get that tattoo.

In the book the character has the tattoo, quite literally, to prove what a giant whore she is.

ok i started reading kushiel's dart. it's.. very strange. it's both interesting and not interesting so far. i'm like i get it. you were raised in a whore house. now let's move the fk on to the actual story plz.

If I had to pick the best fantasy novel prose in existence I would choose Kushiel's Dart. Melisandre is the most effective villain ever written, she twists me in emotional knots.

I just finished Kushiel's Dart, and have requested the rest of the series from the library. Someone had given me the first book. It is an amazingly well-written world, and she managed to get the ideas across without being totally vulgar and detailed.
