I just finished up Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It does the first person single narrative pretty well if you can rock with the YA stuff. It's not bad, though I would advise you to ignore the "second coming of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series!!!" fans of the series, because it's not.

Ya I read those, were a quick read, that's only similarity between Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, both quick and easy fun reads.

Old thread, but have you read Name of the Wind? it's kinda a 1st person because he's narrating a story of his life, it's an amazing book to me. (fantasy genre)
