You have never macro'd before? Crazy.

The impact I see from an MMD sink is people with a ton of MMDs muled that devalue the currency will drop them into the sink - the people on the bottom who are the only ones actually farming MMDs (also macroers) over all will have slightly more buying power as the value of the mmd increases. People at the top might actually be willing to part with that set epic they are holding if they can actually do something with the mmds.

That's just my opinion though.

also the people with thousands of mmds muled who dont spend them do not devalue the mmd.. its the people with thousands who sell them for cash, or who buy all the items for sale and overbid what a casual player can spend - thats what devalues the mmd..

im sure if i needed it i could talk to 3-4 of my ingame friends and get 50k mmds together for an item if i REALLY wanted it.. now. how is a casual player supposed to compete with that? That is frustrating and convinces them that they wont ever be able to compete and they move on. But even more importantly i dont need any items because i or my friends loot everything i need/want...

I'm not saying that i have always been a casual player.. or to be honest the reason i can be a casual player at this point is i have everything i will ever want or need ingame. But look at the rare trader how that was supposed to be a mmd sink.. would anyone agree that it worked?

edit: and this is logic i see someone using all the time so let me throw this in.. i have never macro'd the doomherald account.. ever.. and i was 275 before all you suckers BY YEARS IN YOUR FACE

Honestly I think that so called "mmd sink" rare exchanger makes more people money than takes away idk that's just me though.. However a new higher tier rare exchanger would probably be more of a money sink.. I can see people sinking a couple thousand mmds into.. It would have to be a small percentage for the high tiers to retain thier value.

As for macroing.. I don't do that either.. Then agian not one of my toons is 275 either lol

1:4000 I think there should be more weapon rares than there are ig currently did some people quit that had them or something?

I think the current rare exchanger effected the AC economy in this way:

- Made wanted and useful rares much easyier to obtain.

- And therefore greatly deprecated the value of certain rares.

Prior to this you would sink 300-400mmds into a focus rare on /trade. Now you can get one for what? Less than 50mmds?

As a matter of fact - I recall when the exchanger was first added. Alot of people did run dry on mmds. Alot of people were selling items cheaper. The mmd did become worth more for a short period.

But as time goes on less and less people are using the rare exchange. I know I have not used it since it's introduction - So my mmd stock starts to build back up.

So I would say if turbine intended to create a "mmd sink" with the rare exchanger it did not work in the long run. But I'm unsure if that was their intention.

You are illustrating exactly what my point is. Some people have 10s of thousands of mmds muled so they can always over bid the casual player. Those are also the same people that have access to great items and wont sell them for MMDs because they don't really have a use for more mmds - you yourself even said this - I wont sell X item cause MMDs are useless to me.

I would call the person who is still MMD farming the casual player, they have more buying power if the people at the top dump their mmd stockpiles.

I would agree that the current rare exchanger isn't a hugely effective mmd sink. That's why I said if we had an even higher cost exchanger(8-10 mmds) that gave you the same absurdly small chance as the loot system to find a high tier rare, people would likely dump much of their own mmd stock into it if they had 10-30K. That's just my opinion. I am not even sure I like the idea I was just tossing it out there.
