Old Player Thinking of Returning - Questions |

Hey guys,
I used to play back around '99-'01ish on TD as Saervek and Brodrick. I used to hang out with Pilarius the White, Shob Sr, and Arcticaviator (if any of those names ring a bell haha). I just have a few questions that'll help me decide if I really wanna travel down this rabbit hole again.
1. Do you guys know if any of the above mentioned still play?
2. How hard is it to start from scratch these days?
3. Are there any good sites with guides/info on all the changes that have occured and how to not miserably fail as a noob? I just read some of the conversations on sites and boards and I barely recognize any of it with all the things that have changed since I played.
4. Any good sites with updated builds? I've come across a few but they seem to be pretty dated.
5. Is it still WORTH it to play Asheron's Call?
Asheron's Call was the first MMO I ever played but it is still my favorite. So many great memories from this game.

I was the original Saervek, but never played any char by the name of Saevek.
I gave my Saervek account to a "friend" when I quit, who then promptly sold it, so the later owner of Saervek may have gone on to do grand things haha.
As an aside, it was strange when I came back and started my account with Brodrick to see my old character "Saervek" running around hah.

It's still worth playing. A lot of new material. You can create a shadow character now. You can create an olthoi character now. Many of the old allegiances are gone, but some good ones still out there. I'm not playing hardly at all now, but I do know quite a few of the older players have returned. Not much pk action happens on thistledown.
Some very good quest leaders still play.

Haven't seen him from around the time that they broke the ability of Xp chains. But I do recall him starting the chain under Videian.
Shob Sr
Last time I saw him was over in WoW, he quit AC shortly after Dark Majesty came out.
Arcticaviator
No long plays either

Not that hard at all, even with old game knowledge its still easy to get to level 100+ in just a few days.

If you've not played for a long time then heck yes! Come febuary though there are some changes to the original game on its way. |

Thanks for all the great info! I'm pretty pumped to get back to playing, but unfortunately it looks like my return may be ended before it ever began. I'm having issues with the "Connection to the server has been lost" error on the connecting/update progress vials screen. Anyone know much about this problem or have any suggestions? I've tried the port forwarding but that didn't help. Kind of at wits end here.
