I agree with ya Life.

I think all the people who have quit or are threatening to quit because of these "proposed changes" owe it to themselves and to Turbine to say what and more importantly why they do not like specific a proposed change. Turbine is being very open with the community and asking for feedback prior to the february patch.

I will refrain from judging the current proposed updates until I get a chance to actually test out the changes in game myself.

But I will say this: Turbine has done a fabulous job with the past few years of patches & updates in my opinion. Some changes and additions to the game I really have enjoyed:

~ Sets, Epics, New Loot Tier, Lvl 8 Spells.
~ Societies, Armors, Tasks, two Castles including black markets.
~ New Out Door Hunting Areas (Freebooter, Moar Island, Gear Knights, Frozen Valley, City of Neftet,
~ New Alt Currencies, New Items to purchase
~ 3 New Skills (Void, Twohand Combat, & Gearcraft)
~ Aetheria
~ New Races, New monsters
~ Updated High Tier Rares
~ Rare Exchanger
~ New Armor Types Over Robes, Knorr, Haebrean, Olthoi Alduressa, Olthoi Celdon,Olthoi Amuli, Olthoi Koujia, etc etc.
~ Trinkets
~ Updated Casinos
~ Tailoring
~ Cloaks

I haven't been around in forever, but some of the stories, and the lore of Maggie's site have been a constant source of nostaliga for me over the years.

If she really needs someone to take over hosting it, I can probably just host a mirror/archive of it for her or some such just for old times sake.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I've wandered the island of Dereth. I keep toying with coming about, last time I tried I just couldn't get used to the interface again.


Glad to see there are some faces still about from the old Asheron's Fury days.

The original Moria was back a month or 3 ago

I was under Videian when I first started playing in 2000, but broke at some point after a disagreement about the xp chain. Although, Blackmancer may have been running the Fury at that time.

A good number of old players are coming back. I have seen an overall increase in quest participation.

true maggie's has not been updated in a while buts there info there that I liked referring too that I cannot seem to find on wikki either because they feel its outdated and no need for it or they just have not gotten around to posting it or they consider it not worth while taking up space not sure the reason but maggies has ALWAYS been like th AC BIBLE to me and I really feel lost without it.

To me the games starting to look like it fell off a cliff, and a team of professional rednecks duct taped the mess back together. As for The Jackcat and ACmaps (and certainly other websites as well), The authors of the sites should at least notity their regular patrons of upcoming changes with their content. Rather than let the site you worked hard to create just die in obscurity and leave the visitors clueless as to what the hell happened, at least make reasonable effort to let people know what has just occured. Otherwise it's just wasted effort and visitors are just SOL. It surely deserves a place in the internet archive.
