NukeMage posted: If he wasn't dead, don't you think one of those terrorist organizations would of refuted it by now? Come on, they captured relatives and known accomplices, took his body, took plenty of DNA evidence, took pictures, ect. Parading his body around the globe would of just further inflamed Muslims the world over.
Parading is a very very bad idea.
Was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday, and he said its like they said "i caught a HUGE fish..biggest one ever, big as a truck!!" and then asking for prove and hearing "sorry but i tossed him back into the sea, so you`ll just have to believe me" and then knowing that guy has been known to lie.
How can you trust him?... You should not blindly trust the goverment when its known they have lied before.
Weapons of mass destruction? in Iraq, as an example, just look it up, the goverment peeps of the time have even admitted it was a lie.
Sorry but i`m not an American and perhaps i`m seeing this situation from another perspective, but i think its a healthy thing to question .. hinky situations (without getting the Conspiracy nut label)
And not just blindly believe what the goverment is telling you.
Hell here in the Netherlands we just found out troops have been training in Zimbabwe or something when this is not allowed by some kind of law.. yet they are doing it and were caught.

Of coarse they had chemical weapons. We sold em to them after Ronald Regan's election..

I do agree that things should be questioned, and lord knows our government can be downright shady regardless of the administration, but in this case to go on TV and say osama was dead and not have any proof would be political suicide. If there is anything flaky with the story it will be quickly uncovered, as opposed to the Iraq WMD debacle.
It is much easier to disprove the death of someone (hey, look at me, I am still alive!) than to disprove that a country was stockpiling illegal weapons (hmm, I swear they had a two megaton warhead sitting next to this crate the last time I was here . . )
On a separate note.
In iraq, I personally feel Bush just wanted any reason to go invade that he could muster, for whatever were his true motives we probably will never know. I personally lean towards Cheney being a big influence in that decision (whether he still had a hard on for Hussein from when he was secretary of defense or because of Haliburton).
However, let's not forget that Hussein did in fact use chemical weapons on thousands of his own citizens . . . and invaded kuwait . . .fired missiles at israel and saudi arabia, and lord knows what else I am not remembering off the top of my head right now. The guy was highly unpredictable and mentally unstable. If, and it is probably a big if, he had ever gotten a nuke he would not of hesitated to use it.
Hussein was as bad, if not significantly worse than Gaddafi, and look what NATO is currently doing over there right now.
Our biggest problem with going into Iraq (aside from going in in the first place and not just assassinating Hussein) was the fact that we botched the immediate post war effort BIG TIME, and all the scandals and b.s. caused a LOT of angry locals to make things really rough. We treated the Iraqi people poorly, and we paid for it.
Ok, i am done ranting for the night, off to bed I go

Call me a tree hugging hippy if you want.
But in my opinion the USA should remove all the troops from the middle east, cut spending on military besides protection of the USA, put the money you are left with in re-developing the USA as a product producing country, invest it into farms, new tech, cure for cancer and what not.
USA would be back to the country i loved going to.
Now i wont set a foot across its border (which is a shame since ive only visited 14 states so far, and i wanted to visit `m all), i do not want some lowlife groping my nads, i do not want to hand over my credit card info, i do not want to give my fingerprints, i do not want to get my body scanned.
I`m visiting a damn country, not a frigging maximum security jail, We/You have rights, we are not cattle.

Where do you live?
I live in USA and I have gone to mexico and canada and haven't had to deal with what you speak of. Lowlife groping? You mean what they pat you down? That really doesn't happen that often and it happens when you look suspicious. My dad used to work for TSA. When do you have to hand your CC info over? To pay for your plane ticket probly. Sorry your not going to get that for free. Fingerprints? Lol. Body scans? I'm assuming your talking about the metal detectors which are pretty much everywhere now. In a lot of schools, but it only makes sense in an airport. It helps them figure out who they need to pat down.

Exaggerate much?
If you can't deal with our airport security measures, please stay in your own country and worry about your own countries problems. We have enough of our own without having to worry about appeasing some "hippies" from a small spec of a nation. People are not trying to fly planes into your office buildings. .

Funny. I can go through our airports and not get touched, Not give them my CC other then paying for the plane ticket and not get my fingerprints taken. Maybe you look "suspicious"
I do have to have my Passport to go to anywhere outside of the country I reside in. But that's pretty common.

The IRA? The now dysfunctional and disbanded group? Because the IRA nowadays is at all comparable to any group that is currently operating out of the middle east or africa . .
Are you really saying that London has no aiport screening and searches on outbound flights? How about you read the official government website where it says security and scanners are being implemented nationwide in the UK.
Still not sure what you mean about the credit card and fingerprinting, as I have never been required to do any of those. However, again, if you have problems with identity verification then just stay home.
No, I am not in denial, I see what is happening in the world and the rather unfortunate actions we here in America have to take to try and contain, if not completely stop, terrorists and other threats to our way of life and our people.
So for the record, what country are you from Max?
