Glad the bastard is dead, about damn time! I was in the Navy when the USS Cole got bombed, and during 9/11 and the first few years of Iraq/Afghanistan. I knew people who got killed both here at home and overseas.
And to all the conspiracy theorists on this thread already, you are fkn morons. If osama had died years ago they sure as hell would not of kept it quiet. .

Ok, So he's dead. Now what?
Think the rest of his followers aren't going to retaliate in some way? Just because he's dead doesn't mean anything is over. We still have troops over there and will more then likely always have troops over there. We won't ever fully get out of there. Now that we've killed him we just made ourselves a bigger target. We've basically given them a new reason to continue fighting us and bombing us.
At least that's what I think of it.

If he wasn't dead, don't you think one of those terrorist organizations would of refuted it by now? Come on, they captured relatives and known accomplices, took his body, took plenty of DNA evidence, took pictures, ect. Parading his body around the globe would of just further inflamed Muslims the world over.

If he was not dead the president would not come on national TV and say he is dead for one simple reason. What do you think would happen if a week from now Osama made a statement holding a newspaper from a week after he was killed? The President would lose all respect of everyone in this country and around the world.
If we had kept his body we would have just invited more attacks as terrorists tryed to reclaim it, droping it in the ocean means there is no shrine for others to worship. We did the right thing.

I would have preferred he be taken alive and was honestly quite surprised to hear Obama say he ordered bin Laden captured if possible.
I do feel quite conflicted about all the celebrations in the streets, though. Bin Laden is the most successfully evil man (until recently) alive, but I don't believe the correct response to his death is to have a party. Plus, as mentioned before, it's not like the war on terror is magically over now.
