I wouldn't classify the original Clash of the Titans as a classic. I'd say it had some great stop motion special effects. But the acting, story and tempo of the movie wasn't so hot. This isn't exactly remaking 12 Angry Men.

Clash of the Titans is not a classic, though. It's a bit of pulp that is enduring because it was pleasantly cheesy and had special effects that, though primitive, were obviously handled by people with skill (i.e. the legendary Ray Harryhausen). It was spectacle then, and there's no reason it shouldn't be remade using today's toys.
