Eh, the cgi was outstanding, and is what made the movie. It did a great job of making it feel real, blending with real world people and objects.

The 3d was average. The only thing in focus was what they wanted you to look at. Everything else was blurred.

It was quite annoying at times. But at least they didn't do cheesy tricks, like yo-yos at the screen and such. It gave the immersive feel, not the "hey look, woooohhhh it's 3d woooooooh" effect.

That was the entire point. The 3D was supposed to add to the realism, not be a gimmick. James Cameron's movies have never been the most thought provoking or the most original, they have been about showing what the absolute peak of today's technology can do.

After seeing the Star Wars special editions, where the puppets and animatronics have been replaced with CG characters, and realizing how fake they look, and the awful Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull, I'm thankful for Avatar upping the bar.

The CGI blew me away. There were times you forgot what was real and what wasn't.

I would've liked a more original or less predictable story, but overall, I really enjoyed the movie.

I was surprised they were sold out at 3PM on a Saturday weeks after release. I had to wait and see the 4:30 show.

I love it how they were saying that many people got depressed after watching the movie... lol

Just passed Titanic as the number one worldwide film. By the end of its run it should be 100 mill up on Titanic in the US and 300-400 worldwide. Which means that Cameron has essentially lapped any movie not made by him in terms of box office.

The reason I find this so interesting, while I get that the guy makes good popcorn movies, I have always been less than enthusiastic about his films. The first Terminator is a good movie for what it is, and I really need to see the Abyss. I guess. But True Lies, and Titanic are a big thumbs down for me. T2 and Aliens are entertaining, but I find them pretty flawed.

One of the worst movies considering the hype surrounding it. 7ft tall people falling in love with each other just doesn't do it for me... I'd give it a 3/10 and that's including the nice 3D gfx.

Not as good as The Phantom Menace review, but very worthwhile.

Saw it at IMAX 3D, and I thought it was a great movie. It wasn't as good as Terminator 2, but it's up there.
