Cool answers regarding the fast vs. slow debate, now to the other part of my question.
What methods have other movies used to explain or hand-wave why zombies are suddenly coming back to life?
I know a few of them already, but for the purposes of discussion, I'll let you guys tell me. And I might miss one too, so go ahead and mention whatever weird one you heard. I'll start with a really silly one from a terrible movie I watched the other day.
In the Curse of the Komodo, there is an island where the military was breeding animals to become larger (why its the US Navy instead of the US Army is beyond me though lol). One particular komodo grows much larger than the others, and apparently its saliva can turn you into a zombie. So not only is getting eaten by that thing a threat, you have to worry about anyone else that touches or gets covered in its goo.
Yes, I was /mind-boggle too when that happened, and for being such a shocking subplot twist in the movie, they sure didn't explore it very much. Only made it through the movie cause the female cast all have large um, "talent", of which one of them gets nude and the others wear very tight shirts. Oh, and the zombies in this one were the slow type, and the good thing about them was they did use them somewhat effectively, aka the zombies "ambushed" the victims, rather than just leap out of a bed and do a 100 yard sprint towards the nearest victim.
Yes, terrible example, but I didn't want to take away from more obvious ones
