So, in zombie movies, do you generally like seeing faster zombies, or slower ones? And why?

My other question is, what ways have they shown zombies to come to life? Give me a method, and if possible, a movie that uses that concept. For instance, in Night of the Living Dead, it was due to radiation from space. I could give more examples, but I'd like to hear from others.

As for me, I generally prefer the slower zombies. Yes they are easily beaten and in an open field you can also outrun them, it's not as easy to fight off a horde of 50 of them. Yes, you'll take a few down, but you'll eventually get tired or screw up and get bitten. I think that's one reason why I liked the original Dawn of the Dead more than the remake (good lord that fat lady can be an Olympic athlete once she turned).

Another question, how many different ways have films shown zombie killing techniques? SPOILER for Dead Alive/Braindead For example, in Braindead, while the lawnmower scene was pretty awesome/gruesome, I think the coolest/funniest part was when the priest turned out to be a warrior monk and proceeded to open a can of whup-tooshie on the zombies.

Any other memorable zombie fights you can remember from other zombie movies?

I am a huge fan of zombie movies. That being said zombies are supposed to move slow. the fast ones aren't as scary, they are just cheesy.

Fast moving zombies are usually the result of a weird virus and not the reanimation of corpses... which explains their quickness. Don't see why it's cheesier than anything else.

you won't think it's cheesier when they are full sprinting down your ass!

I'm pretty sure in the fast zombie movies I have seen they use that term as much if not more than the term zombie. And who really cares? The word zombie has been used to refer to other things besides reanimated corpses. Even the voodoo origin can mean a living person who has been given certain concoctions that make them susceptible to the witch doctor's suggestion. In fact, I believe the first full length zombie film features that kind of zombie. Didn't have anything to do with craving flesh.

just had a weird idea for a movie... sort of zombies vs. infected:

Dead start coming back to life... causes major problems, but they move slowly. Evil corporate bastards create a cure for zombies. The problem is, the cure is actually a virus, and it mutates... becoming incredibly contagious. The other problem is that if anybody gets infected with the cure who is not a zombie, they turn into a psychotic maniac. The solution is to let them fight it out... anybody who gets infected and then bitten by a zombie ends up being cured, and vice versa. Once you've been infected with both, you're immune to both (and a vampire... oops!).

You should probably write a script and see what comes of this idea, I'm sure more people want to hear about it.
