Let me preface this by saying I am a sci-geek. I love Star Trek(the original is still my favorite sci-fi series of all), Star Wars, Twilight Zone(original), Outer Limits(original) etc etc.

I never watched SG 1 while it was in production, but I recently found the first 4 seasons on DvD at a garage sale and scooped them up for $5 each. It really was a no lose situation. I have watched the first two seasons and I am still waiting for this series to "grab" me in some way. Richard Dean Anderson is good in his role, Amanda Tapping is cute, the guy that plays Daniel comes across as a whiny biatch and the actor that plays Teal'c(did I spell that right?) just raises an eyebrow once in awhile and delivers a one liner. There just has just not been a hook for me yet. This series ran for 8-9 years....so it seems like there has to be a chance of it getting better than it seems in the first two season!

What are your opinions??

I enjoyed the whole run though it had its good parts and bad. If it hasn't grabbed you yet not sure if it ever will.

I enjoyed pretty much the entire series, all 10 seasons.

SG-1 is great imo. I couldn't stand the offshoot abominations though.

the earlier seasons have a few corny episodes, just like any other scifi show, but when the original cast is together most of the seasons are great overall. in the later seasons with the cast changes i think the series started to suck hard tho. by the end it was like a totally different spinoff.

Exactly.

While I enjoyed the later seasons for different reasons, I loved that the first several seasons didn't take themselves too seriously.

I also enjoyed most of Stargate Atlantis. I've yet to give the new series a good chance though, too many other things on my plate. I've heard it's not that good though.

Thanks for the replies. I will go ahead and watch seasons 3-4 and give it another shot.

Atlantis was fun too, but the 4-5 seasons they had severe cast issues that were apparent.
