Hey everyone, I just saw an old topic on this forum and read thru it unfortunatly it was closed and the issue never solved, I have the exact same problem and it is only while playing Daoc, I quadbox wow, run SC2, with a movie on the 2nd monitor and HoN running in the background without the slightest bit of lack / cpu problems, but entering DAoC .. the computer can black screen in 5secs, or if I enter it slowly, dont zone 2 fast dont tab out close all background things I can run it a while longer.
What strikes me funny was reading thru the other post, that dude has the exact same problem and I have already tried:
New ram, Older drivers, Vista/Win7 ulti OS. Clean install, format.
Specific Information I'd like to share ; Went over to a friend cos he had the ram and different OS I could test out, when Win7 was installed with new drivers it ran for a while with no problems then crashed, we tried taking out 1 set of ram then testing them and swapping the problem persisted, then we tried his and it worked for like 1hour or something, and unfortunatly at that point I was out of time and had to drive off,
We thought we fixed the problem since it didnt occur in 1h with me duel boxing DAoC alt tabbing like a crazy using 2 accs, when I later came home I booted up the pc and realised I didnt have any sound because I only brought the pc and a monitor for the check, so X-fi fatal1ty extreme soundcard drivers got installed and the problem occured instantly..
Dunno if this has anything to do with it, or some old files still stacked on the comp but as it struck me the sound drivers / card might be the reason I removed it from the comp along with a driver uninstall.
At that point the problem occured again everytime I entered the game,
The second important info is that I tried to log into the game on a toon and alt tab, doing so I could sit on the desktop, watch a movie listen to music, play another game, no problems at all
but at the exact second that I maximized daoc INSTANT Black Screen of Death <--- .. this was a test cos I had a hunch that it was gonna happen and it did.
Saying so I also expect it to be some acceleration problem with graphic or virtual memory clocking up, I have little technical knowledge of computers so I have no clue on pinpointing the problem, this has persisted thruout the last 2 weeks and so I thought it was about time to stop reading forums and opening one myself since I've tried almost everything they surguested on every forum.
Hope you guys can help me solve this mystery
Thx in advance
Here is a link of the other dudes Topic its detailed in what problems I am experiencing aswell
