Could be that the others don't want to piss off Redmond, or since all the deals are supposedly undisclosed, maybe they pay for the Android licensing for a break on the Windows licensing so the cost is a wash, but looks better on paper? Or perhaps comes out with no more money paid out of pocket to MS, but with fancy bookkeeping it looks better on the MS books? Who knows?


My big question is:


When will MS (or will they at all) engage Amazon on the pay bandwagon now that the Fire is out?

If B&N invalidate the patents in question, does that nullifies all the existing contracts?

Pretty sure Amazon is watching this one closely.

Depending on the decision it will impact how others proceed. You can bet though that if the judge says MS doesn't have grounds for payment the others will line right up to file their challenges.

I hope this happens.

Micro$oft has enough cash. They've been in trouble for Anti-Trust crap before. Hopefully B&N will stay the course!
