Crossfire AND SLI all suck. Far too many issues. It basically comes down to a crappily functioning gimick that tries to dupe people into doubling their sales.

I wish it was only crossfire I was talking about. I'm more pointing to the OpenGL issues that have been a problem recently (never had trouble with that previously).

Good news... and bad news.

Good news, there is a AMD driver update for Skyrim. 11.11a includes a small performance increase for single GPUs and MSAA fix. Also will automatically disable CrossfireX (because of the bad news).

Bad news, CrossfireX still not working. AMD Tweeted out that this can't be resolved with a CAP file and will require a driver update. But this just released a driver update, so I guess they still need more time to figure it out as well.

Anyway, at least it disables CrossfireX for me, so I don't have to manually do it everytime myself. And I assume it re-enables after leaving the game. And this is important because there is a HUGE performance penalty just even having CrossfireX turned on while playing.

So did you 6950's not flash into 6970's? I know AMD removed the feature after they seen no 6970's were selling, when they launched almost all 6950's could be flashed if you believed what you read on most the tech forums.

The shaders can be unlocked to match the 6970, but it's hard to get the same core and memory speed. Especially because the 6950 uses different and slower memory.
