Bad news AMD Crossfire users... Still not Crossfire profile for Skyrim, despite AMD releasing new drivers and CAP this week. And it's now been one week since the launch of a very popular game. This is fairly disappointing AMD.

Nvidia by the way launched a driver with an SLI profile for Skyrim the day before the game launched.

Its also been stated that people who want to play Rage should not use them either.

Good news is, the game runs pretty good on a single 6950. And if I disable Crossfire, it runs well. Problem is it runs much slower when Crossfire is turned on (it's not just no benefit from Crossfire, Crossfire actually is making it run much slower). So I have to disable Crossfire (and watch all my desktop icons get messed up. Play Skyrim. When I'm done, got to go back, turn Crossfire back on, before playing another game. Haha... HURRY AMD!

After all you bitched and whined about your older ATI cards here, I have no idea why you bought that.

A GTX580 would have been fine. Get Keplar in 3 months and forget about Crossfire forever.

I know. I even bought a GTX 580 at first. Had it installed and everything. Then people started talking about how the 6950 could be unlocked to be a 6970 (though later turns out not to be entirely true) and the price was so good I could get two for about the same price as my GTX 580 and I didn't have an SLI board... So I caved and decided to try to be patient with AMD again, because the deal on two 6950s unlocked as 6970s seemed pretty good.

While the 6950s haven't been the total hell that the 4870 X2 was, it's still had enough driver issues to make me regret this "good value" decision.

I'd say for the most part I've had nothing but good experiences with both nvidia and ati, but ati is definitely fumbling a bit too frequently for my liking lately - enough to make me wish I'd gotten an nvidia card.

I have absolutely no problems in Skyrim with my SINGLE ATI HD6870...
Crossfire is fluff only meant to impress your friends - games work just fine with single cards, specially cards as powerful as the 68xx and 69xx ones.

Crossfire AND SLI all suck. Far too many issues. It basically comes down to a crappily functioning gimick that tries to dupe people into doubling their sales.

Unfortunately with 30 inch monitors and triple monitors, one card is sometimes not enough.

Really one card is almost never enough. It's becoming exceedingly rare for a gaming/power pc to be running on 1 monitor now anyway. My 2 470's struggle with a lot of my games at 6110x1200 and together they are 20-30% stronger than a single 580 which is the strongest single GPU card atm.
