AMD and nvidia just released the HD7000m and GF 600m as re-badges since 28nm is still a mile out it seems. Anandtech made reference that TSMC 28nm HKMG is not going well.

That's pretty much always the way it is with the mobile cards... The 540m in my laptop is basically a 430 and the 4xxm's are basically 2xx cards and so on. You cant compare the laptop mobile cards being released to desktop cards being released because they are expected to be that way...

I am definitely looking for a desktop. I was thinking the 6870 for 140 bucks on newegg would be good.

well its Jan. ive had badluck with my cars LOL. either way im still going to buy an ssd and vidcard. I am still undecided what to get.
