320GB SATA II 3GB 16MB 7200RPM HD Raid-0
CORSAIR 6GB 16000MHZ
COOLERMASTER V8 CPU FAN
ASUS X58 P6T SLI / CROSSFIRE DELUXE L
ULTRA 800W POWER SUPPLY
ATI RADEON HD 5670 512MB DDR3 PCI-Ex
I have the above setup. I was thinking its getting time to upgrade at least the videocard. ive been running this setup with no issues for past two years. granted my graphic settings on some games had to be tamed but ran with no issues.
What would be a good upgrade? Vidcard for sure but what? I do not do much if anything that would really use crossfire although my mobo could do it. I dont want to spend a ton of money either. anything from $100-2$00 if I can. bc maybe in a the near future i might make another pc.

Kepler comes out next month so I wouldnt buy a video card until at least then, if for no other reason than it dropping the prices on the cards that are out now. If your in a hurry though I believe you can pick up a 5800 card for that price range. I picked up a spare 5770 for $87 last week. I would wait though.
You shouldnt be bottlenecked by that cpu with a little bump which it's easily capable of. I am running a 930@4.1 and am never cpu limited even with a VM running.
That HDD is F'ing scarry. 16MB 320 probably 2x160gb platters is a slow ass drive that will cause your games to studder. Do you turn off your page file?

For less than $200, you can get a HD6870 1GB DDR5. Very good card (I run all recent games with everything maxed out, 1920x1080 full HD). And you can add a second one later if you ever want to do crossfire.

I built my rig just recently and used a 6870 as well, they're good cards. I haven't done a ton with it, but at 1920x1080 it handled the tor beta with everything maxed, and it handles bf3 on high (campaign only so far, haven't played much) with no stutters as well. I still have to get around to oc'ing the cpu/gpu and seeing how it handles ultra, but for now I'm pretty okay with it.

Yea I am not in a hurry so I can wait until after it comes. I just wanted to get a heads start on shopping for one. I didnt plan on buying one until end Dec/Jan timeframe.
As far as my HDD no I think the page filing is turned on still. I bought those because originally I planned on buying a SSD bootup drive/game drive with those as data drives. Of course I never did LOL. Some day I will get the SSD drive.
My CPU I run it at a aircool 3.7 (54 degrees C stressed) with just turbo and minor cmos adjustments. I can run it at 4.2 without crashes but the temp is too high for me to use as a daily OC (84 degrees C)stressed.

I know, but those are the only two games I've tested on the rig since I built it, and depending on the OPs requirements it may or may not be relevant info. No reason not to mention it in any case.
