Another iPad 3 rumor. Seems it will have an A5X processor, not the expected quad core A6 processor. It's speculated the A5X would be a 32nm dual core (believe the A5 is a 45nm chip).

Well that will certainly help with battery life at least, even if not allow for a small clock speed increase, if they want to keep battery life the same.

Have you guys heard of anyone making a good ~13" tablet anytime soon, as in by end of this year?
I'm looking for something that's about magazine size for reading, magazines, comic books and such.
10" seems too small to be able to see afull page large enough to read easily and with no need for scrolling.

That is why we are excited about the higher resolution. That will show an entire page, and depending on the scaling they use, it should be readable.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.

There is a rumor of an 11.6 inch Samsung tablet.

This.

I have not been an iPad fan before, but this might win me over.

I guess it might be possible that the high resolution will be enough to make a full page visible when it is only 9.7" diagonal. I will have to wait for it to come out and read the reviews.
If it indeed turns out to be legible enough, I wonder if reading the tiny letters will cause too much eye strain if one reads for a few hours.

A safe bet would be to put such a display in 12-13" tablet (like the one Ravyn linked to), but with companies obsessing with pocket devices and portability, that might be too much to ask for yet.

Eventually I hope they make 13" tablets that turn into laptops by attaching to a keyboard/additional battery slab, then people who want small laptops as well as people who want larger screen tablets will buy them, so market should be successful.

I think web browsing already works pretty well on 9.7 inch 1024x768 or 10.1 inch 1280x800 resolution tablets. The browser software does a good job scaling pages and keeping fonts legible for the most part.
