People cry over dead celebrities too which is almost as stupid imo, so I wouldn't put it past people to shed real tears over this.

Dude, imagine if David Hasselhof died.. We all know you'd be inconsolable.

N. Korea is a giant cult... "dear leader" and all. They are completely cut off from the outside world, no way to challenge what they've been told or to be exposed to different ideas or ways of life. I'd say we have it a little better off since we're still allowed to think and say what we want (more or less.)

North Koreans have been indoctrinated from birth to view the dear leader, his grandfather and now his son at the level of being likes gods on earth. I don't doubt that there are many who are worried about being reported for not showing adequate grief - but i wouldn't underestimate the fanatical level of love people felt for the man. It's completely to foreign to us, but completely natural to them.

National Geographic did an amazing documentary of life inside North Korea, it's on Netflix, or you can watch it online here:

It's especially interesting to compare the footage from his father's funeral, Kim Il-Sung - same weeping crowds, even the same limousine hearse, i think.

The people of North Korea are so completely ignorant of the real world that they still don't know we've put people in space, or on the Moon.

There is no media that is not State operated. There are no books, no television programs, no news shows, no radio shows, no newspapers, no children's cartoons, no magazines that are not completely owned, operated or published by the State. From the moment of birth their entire world and their understanding of it is (literally) dictated to them. All of their literature, art, and media is State controlled.

If you think you could grow up in that level of continuous indoctrination and retain your independence enough to willingly dance on his grave? (assuming for the moment that you could get away with it?) then you're an idiot.

The only time I cared about David Hasselhof was when I was like 8 years old and he had a talking car.

You lie. You didn't give a damn about Hasselhof.

You only cared about the car.

Have you ever heard the word Hyperbole? I know that you would argue with a doorknob about which way it turns but why do you argue things that nobody is really arguing?

I bet you're really irritating in real life.
