I will be reorganizing a set of drawers, playing an MMO and banging pots and pans in my apartment, alone at midnight. New years Eve is amateur night. While this is not exactly accurate, it sounds worthwhile.

I'm torn between spending it alone in my house and spending it alone in a bar with a whole lot of other people in it.

I'm in hong kong and will be spending NYE with my GF in the club lounge on the 28th floor with the city view for the fireworks. Will just be some cocktails and quiet drinks to ring in the new year.

Those were my choices , too, Ptilk. I backed out of a New York New Years with a Dance professor I was dating. Merce Cunningham, a dance legend is playing a last show.

Last year I spent new years eve in a bar alone two days after my ex-wife attempted suicide. That was especially mournful. I dont mind being alone. i can have a good time. However, it is magnified on new years eve.

Do they have any good whore houses in Virgina?

I live in a tiny town full of depressed and desperate people. No money, no jobs, no future. The only people who can live here comfortably are people who are retired or wealthy. Everyone else is either trying like hell to get out, or they gave up and just want to numb the pain till they die.

All I have to do to get a "date"....is shake a bottle of pills while standing on my front porch. Never seen so many prescription drug addicted women. Pretty sure the fact that they will do anything for a pill that costs 2 bucks has put the whore houses out of business.

I just recently stopped seeing the woman I had been with for the past couple of years so New Years Eve doesn't hold any temptation for me at the moment. I just want this year over with so I can get on with moldering in peace. I remember I used to wonder how old people could spend all that time doing nothing. I found out why, it's because they can.

You simply must write us stories about this place, Ptilk. This is your Walden, Montparnasse or Hell. Out here in Lala land, we have desperate pill addicted soccer moms who take valium and chardonnay daily. They have the same conflicts just in an urban way.
