What you have is denial.

It's called economic inequality a country does not benefit from having extremes, extreme wealth or extreme poverty.. the less of a income gap there is the better, a country should have a huge middle class, little or no poverty and few really rich people.

What the us is doing is basically enriching it's wealthiest at the expense of the middle class.

Says the trust fund baby.

So tell me, do they have poor people in your country Managain?

I used to pay taxes on my stored wealth every year until the damn conservatives won.. I have no problems paying a 50% income tax if I get a high paying salary after school.

and no we actually don't have any real poverty in Sweden, and what little we have are either refugees, drug addicts or insane. Our middle class grows each year and so does our economy.

I have no problem whatsoever with paying high taxes, taxes has always been a way to redistribute wealth and as long as I'm sacrificing for the good of my nation and my people I'm fine with it.

That is called patriotism, something the conservatives on this board could learn a thing or two about as they blather on about their love for their nation.

Maybe one day you'll catch up to Australia

I like the contention that poverty doesn't count as long as it's dirty foreigners.

It's easy to discount your poor if you just label them all as insane.

we have poverty, real poverty to. Poverty is usually measured as those living on less than half the average income we also have aborigines living in pretty much 3rd world conditions. We still beat Sweden and europe in everything!

SoCal has many different areas, and walks of life, to be sure. If you want the best taste that LA has to offer visitors, do this:

Visit Universal Studios for one solid day. It has tours of all the sites of famous movie filmings, amusement park rides, chances to meet actors, etc, and is not pretentious about who can come in and enjoy the sights. Do all the activities, and enjoy the Citywalk. You can have a fantastic time there enjoying Mummy Returns roller coaster ride, Jurassic park water ride, Terminator 2 in 3D, Waterworld live presentation, and did indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel. Not to mention other live shows and seasonal events.

If you don't like Universal Studios, the traffic getting there, and associated impressions about Angelinos in general, then LA is definitely not for you.

I was thinking about creating a little war between Little Saigon and Little Tokyo at some point

I was really considering going to that Rose Parade but I really don't want to camp out overnight or anything =\ Plus I am not a huge fan of parades. If I had kids I would but I think I'll just watch it on TV. This weekend I will probably do a bit more restaurant adventures and probably see if I can catch anything off of the pier in Newport Beach right next to the Harbor. I hope I packed my fishing pole else I'll just buy one

The guys who I work with now have been incredibly helpful and they all really want to show me around. Very inviting. I am defiantly going to see Universal Studios at some point as well as do some Whale Watching and also the San Diego Zoo. I got a huge list of things to do. So big I actually procrastinate a lot about it, haha

whale watching and the san diego zoo are pwn. make sure you go to the san diego .. fk whatever they call it now. it used to be the wild animal park. now it's some bs about a safari. it's a hell of a lot more interesting than the zoo if you can pay an assload of money to go into the enclosures. otherwise it's not that worth it. that's where i got molested by a giraffe.
