If it's possible I do it, because appropriate behavior is based on what we can do, not what we should do.
Uhm no.

No and if you did that I would blacklist you and make sure you never took part in another raid I was on, ever.
Your argument about pushing buttons for 4 hours is stupid. So does everyone else. Do you think they should all be rolling on the piece of gear only you can use too? If so, make sure everyone understands the raid rules up front. Because I can guarantee you 90% of other players are not assholes and will not roll on gear only you can use.
Standard raid rules on every raid I ahve ever been on is that only roll on shit that would be an upgrade for you. If you want to chagne the standard raid rules make sure everyone understands and consents up front or don't be surprised when you get blacklisted.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks the raid/loot system is stupid to its core.
I know, lets all get together and do some shared work and when we are done we'll gamble on who gets all or most of the pay!

That's how it works regardless. If everyone rolls on everything, even shit they can't use, that's functionally no different than people only rolling on shit tehy can use in terms of the distributive impact.
Most modern MMOs have raid bosses drop tokens along with loot, so that everyone gets SOMETHING. But the loot lottery is a part of every MMO and you're not doing anyone any favors by trying to change the rules so that you get 20x as many rolls, mainly by people who can't even use the item.

Yes, yes I do.
Why?
Because that's how the game is designed...

No it isn't. There's a reason there's "need" and "greed" buttons in every modern MMO.
Wow's raid finder function actually takes it to a new level and doesn't even let people roll because morons like you were griefing people.
In fact, most raids these days have the raid leader use master looter to avoid people like you screwing things up in the first place.

you're missing the point.
all group members contributed to clearing bosses/dungeons. Not everyone has something to trade you want. By taking something THEY NEED( which in turn will make it easier and faster to run the dungeon since we'll be more geared) you're working against your guild and your realm.
You're going to make shit go slower by sabotaging the people who most likely contributed more than you did
Seems like a bit of a contradiction.
If we all contributed, how can any one person rolling on loot be a saboteur?
it's TEAM effort, and you want YOUR team to be as strong as possible. Taking away an item that makes them stronger, so you can sell it to another person in another guild is retarded.

I actually don't even play mmo's anymore.
Though, I do still think raid rules (especially the player-made rules) are stupid.
It's pretty frustrating to spend several hours on a raid in an alliance party (or w/e your game calls multiple party alliances) consisting of several hundred players and seeing the same handful of people getting the drops each time.

It's been years since I last played any MMO, but yes, when I raided I rolled on all loot drops.
I played a Hunter and had to keep up appearances after all.

Depends who I ran the raid with. Back in the Outposter guild in WoW I didn't at all, but I'd do it on random PuG's for items that I could give to someone else (maybe)
