Moore makes many good points.

He also has a healthy disregard for intellectual integrity in his filmmaking. Taking it as polemic, it is pretty good and I agree that most of the general points he wants to make are good ones. However he regularly overstates his case and selectively edits I pretty egregious ways.

It's a trade off. If he straightens it up he reaches less people - way less people. As in, he reaches Public Broadcasting and maybe HBO Viewers. Maybe he's also really popular on indie websites. But that's it.

Now, I am fully aware that like the rest of us, Moore is in the film making biz to make money. But I also think that progressives are getting their asses kicked in the messaging wars. Stripping the message down to it's basics, over-hyping and 'making it hollywood' is necessary to get mass appeal.

So which is better - an ideologically pure film that reaches 30 people? Or a film that flirts with fiction that reaches 300 million people?
